Cuando nos aproximamos al estudio de la ciudad, nos encontramos con múltiples estadios desde los cuales se puede analizar este complejo espacio. …Así que ciudad es la ocupación de un territorio por un grupo de personas que se denomina población, con el fin de coexistir en comunidad. … No queriendo asumir verdades absolutas, por lo general indiscutibles, quisimos explorar el estudio del espacio urbano, no desde los puntos de vista como los conocemos hoy.
Entonces quisimos partir desde el supuesto que haya un orden o trazado que para el caso de nuestras ciudades latinoamericanas se inicia con la conquista y colonización por parte de España. Parece ser, que el centro del complejo trazado es la catedral, se llegó a determinar este punto con tal precisión, por cuanto al medir el ángulo que forma esta línea con las coordenadas geográficas Norte-Sur, equivale al ángulo de solsticio, de la misma forma con Guadalupe estaría alineada con el equinoccio. Unos u otros conocían muy bien la mecánica celeste.
