Análisis por elementos finitos del amplificador de fibra óptica dopada con Erbio

Se analiza el amplificador de fibra óptica dopada con iones de Erbio utilizando un modelo teórico semiclásico donde los dopantes de la fibra son tratados como un sistema atómico de tres niveles, obteniéndose la expresión de la susceptibilidad atómica compleja que produce la amplificación de una señal, la ecuación de onda se soluciona por el método escalar de elementos finitos generalizado para obtener la constante de propagación compleja responsable por la amplificación. Se presentan resultados para la ganancia y la constante de propagación compleja.
Erbium-doped fiber optical amplifier is analized using a semiclasical theory, where we calculate the complex atomic susceptibility of dopant as modeled as a three level atomic system. The complex propagation constant is obtained solving the wave equation by a generalized scalar finite element method. Results to the again and the complex propagation constant are showed.
