LA IDENTIDAD ORGANIZACIONAL EN BUSCA DE SENTIDO: UNA APUESTA DE DELIMITACIÓN

El propósito del presente artículo consiste en revisar las principales líneas de los debates ontológico, epistémico y conceptual alrededor de la identidad organizacional. Asimismo, se plantean algunas restricciones o posibilidades en la emergencia de la(s) identidad(s) organizacional(es). En primer lugar y a modo de introducción, se presentan los cuestionamientos centrales del debate epistemológico, ontológico y conceptual. En segundo lugar, se desarrolla la línea del debate epistemológico que confronta tres perspectivas: la del actor social, la de la construcción social y la institucionalista. En tercer lugar, el debate ontológico que gira alrededor de concebir la identidad como sustancia o proceso. En cuarto lugar, se expone el debate conceptual a través de los términos cultura organizacional e identidad organizacional. En quinto lugar, se desarrolla un breve análisis de los procesos y criterios de la identidad organizacional para contrastarlos con su formación y su configuración. Finalmente, y a modo de reflexión, se plantea la necesidad de integrar las distintas líneas de discusión sin dejar de reconocer la dificultad que esto supone.
