¿Donde están los niños? Rastreando la mirada antropológica sobre la infancia

Estudiosos de la historia de la antropología coinciden en afirmar que los niños y las niñas son seres tradicionalmente dejados de lado en la literatura y el debate antropológicos, así como en el desarrollo de las técnicas o los métodos usados por la disciplina. Pero una exploración somera sobre la producción antropológica permite afirmar que —a pesar de su marginamiento— la infancia ha estado presente desde los inicios de la investigación antropológica. Este artículo es una exploración de los orígenes, el desarrollo y los avances de la “antropología de la infancia” en el marco de la antropología norteamericana a lo largo del siglo xx.
