The Editorial Committee of Matices en Lenguas Extranjeras, electronic journal of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, proudly presents its sixth issue to the academic and scientific community. The process of putting it together started when the journal took on a new editorial group, broadened and reinforced its Scientific Committee, and increased the number of languages it deals with to ten (Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Arabic), being the latter the reflection of the mission of the Foreign Languages Department per se. Furthermore, the journal's team is pursuing the goal of putting it up to date, so that, in the medium term, it could be indexed and being highly recognized.
The present issue is made up of five articles: two in Spanish language, one in French, one in German, and one in Italian language. The languages these papers deal with are: French, Italian, English, Embera-chamí and Spanish (as a mother tongue and as a second language). The variety of languages used (four) and of the languages studied (five), could also be found in the topics addressed in the articles: pedagogy, academic assessment, bilingualism, languages and Internet, and socio-didactics. The origin of the authors is equally important and varied: Universidad de Guanajuato (Mexico), Universita di Catania (Italia), Universidad del Quindío (Colombia), Fundación Universitaria "Luis Amigó" (Colombia), Université d'Avignon (France) and an independent author.
The article "Evaluación entre iguales en la expresión oral: desarrollo de la conciencia correctiva en clase de francés como lengua extranjera", by Professors Emily Marzin and Patricia Marie Anne Houde at Universidad de Guanajuato, presents the results of a research project that, mixing both quantitative and qualitative methods, addresses the difficulties in the oral competence self-assessment among B2 level students of French as a foreign language.
Professor Paolo Torresan, from the Universita di Catania, in his article "Normalizzazione dei giudizi in sede di valutazione dello scritto e adattamento di una griglia di analisi: il resoconto di un'esperienza", shares the experience he had at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura de Lima about the normalization of assessment criteria for written production by means of data analysis through the use of Tables. The author presents the results of the analysis of the application of this interesting research instrument.
The third article, "Reading Comprehension in English Through the use of Lexicon in Minority and Majority Bilingual Subjects of Third Grade from Conventional Schooling", by Professor Sandra Patricia Mayorga from the Universidad del Quindío, presents a new quasi-experimental comparative research, which aims to determine the reading comprehension insight in English language by using a lexical approach. The author developed the research with two groups: students whose mother tongue is Embera-Chamí and speak Spanish as a second language, and students whose mother tongue is Spanish. Thus, this research belongs to the bilingual context we are highly interested at Matices.
The article "Einflüsse des Englischen auf das Spanische am Beispiel einer spanischsprachigen Werbeanzeige der Internet-Plattform MercadoLibreR", by M.A. Carlos Andrés Vargas Pineda, independent promoter of German language and culture, examines different ways in which English affects Spanish in a commercial context. For this purpose, he analyses an advertisement of a well-known brand. The analysis is based on the theory of linguistic contact and compares morphosyntactic and lexical features for its analysis.
The fifth article, entitled "La sociodidactique comme didactique de l'intervention", by Professors Damien Le Gal (Fundación Universitaria Luis Amigo) and Claire Vilpoux (Université d' Avignon), addresses both the theoretical and practical aspects of socio-didactics. As a reviewing paper, it is based on different researches made by the authors and analyses the implications of these previous studies on languages and culture.
Finally, it is worth acknowledging the valuable contributions made by of our authors, and the effort, compromise and support of the editorial team, being Professor Véronique Bellanger (Editor) the leader, Leonardo Paipilla (Editorial Coordinator), Carolina Vargas(Monitor), Ana Milena Ladino (Supporter on the Call for Papers), to the Scientific Committee. I want to thank the reviewers for the rigorous task they performed within the journal, and the unconditional support of Professor Martha Isabel Camargo, Head of The department of Foreign Languages at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
