In this article, Grande argues that the frameworks of Critical Race Theory (CRT), designed to unveil the presence and impact of race and racism in the systems and structures of U.S. law and society, do not inhere the explanatory power for understanding the prior and enduring condition of settler colonization, Indigenous land dispossession or lifeways that center the constitutive relations of land.
