Ergo es una partícula latina que tradicionalmente ha sido considerada como una conjunción que introduce una consecuencia; sin embargo en los discursos de Cicerón la función de ergo rebasa lo puramente referencial y entra en el terreno de lo interactivo; específicamente es empleada por Cicerón como un mecanismo al servicio de la línea central de la argumentación discursiva.
