Note on the truncated rayleigh variate

In this brief note, the truncated Rayleigh varíate is considered. If the truncation point is assumed to be known, maximum likelihood estimate for the parameter is derived and maximum likelihood ratio test for the simple null hypothesis with simple alternative is developed for only one observation. Power of this test is tabulated for usual significance levels.
