This study analyzes the effect of using interactive digital resources on learning oxidation-reduction (redox) reactions in second-year General Unified Baccalaureate students at a public institution in Cuenca, Ecuador. To achieve this objective, a teaching intervention was implemented based on the use of interactive digital resources such as interactive simulations, explanatory videos, and practical online activities. A quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-tests were used on 36 students, evaluating dimensions such as conceptual definition, identification of oxidizing and reducing agents, and balancing equations. The results showed improvements in all dimensions analyzed, confirmed by the nonparametric Wilcoxon test (p < 0.05). An increase in the functional understanding of redox agents and in basic conceptual mastery was highlighted, while equation balancing showed greater variability, suggesting the need for complementary teaching strategies. In conclusion, the use of interactive digital resources promotes deeper and more meaningful learning of abstract content, constituting an effective pedagogical alternative to traditional methods, especially in contexts with infrastructure limitations.
