In the present article, formulas for calculating the derivatives and antiderivatives of functions of the form f(x) = sqrt[n]{x^{m}}, where m is an integer and n is positive integer,  are constructed in detail. These formulas are shown to be valid for the entire domain of the corresponding function. It is shown that if sqrt[n]{x^{m}} = (x^{m})^{frac{1}{n}} = x^{frac{m}{n}}, where m and n are even and x is negative, then the traditional formulas, D_{x}[x^{r}] = rx^{r-1} and int x^{r} dx = frac{x^{r+1}}{r+1} + C, fail. Finally, traditional formulas are modified, when m and n are even and x is negative.
