Constructing a Composite Indicator to Analyze Buildings Energy Performance
Descargas
The adoption of energy strategies in building design can mitigate impacts on the environment and reduce energy consumption. In this sense, some studies focus on the dis-aggregated analysis of the effects of these strategies on building energy consumption and thermal behavior. On the other hand, composite indicators are an alternative to analyze complex phenomena from a multidimensional approach in a simplified way. This article proposes the building's energy performance (BEP) indicator, where the dimensions of energy efficiency (EE) and thermal comfort (CO) are grouped. For this, an university building was selected as a case study, and simulation scenarios were proposed to analyze the strategies. Building modeling and simulation were carried out in the DesignBuilder software. As a result, the building's energy strategies improved the BEP indicator by 16%.
