This paper presents the analysis of the operation of a quasi-resonant inverter with zero voltage switching (ZVS) and pulse width modulation (PWM) for domestic induction heating (IH) applications. The analysis was performed by simulating the different circuit topologies adopted by the inverter due to the operation of the semiconductor devices. From the analysis of these circuits, it was defined that the current behavior in the coil is ideal for IH applications. In addition, in this paper, the non-linear relationship between the duty cycle (D) of the power switch on the low side and the reactive power of the resonance coil was studied. Such a study allows defining the control of the duty cycle through a voltage feedback loop which can be useful for a particular application.
