Los solitones ópticos son pulsos estables de luz infrarroja que al propagarse por las fibras ópticas cientos de kilómetros no presentan distorsión en su perfil temporal ni en su espectro de frecuencias. Se presenta la teoría básica y se muestran algunos resultados de la simulación numérica de la propagación de solitones en fibras.
Optical solitons are infrared stable pulses whose shape and spectrum endure over thousands of kilometers. This paper presents a theoretical framework and shows a numerical simulation of solitons propagation in optical fibers.
