El Capital Humano como concepto y teoría, es un elemento clave para comprender las dinámicas de inversión y adquisición de habilidades en la fuerza de trabajo. Ya sea desde la sociología, la economía, la administración o la psicología del trabajo, permite establecer conexiones relevantes entre las habilidades y conocimientos de los sujetos y sus niveles de ingreso. Sin embargo, su racionalidad se ha visto cuestionada en las últimas dos décadas por la emergencia de fenómenos no lineales que afectan la relación educación-ingreso. Este artículo busca presentar una visión unificada de la literatura del capital humano, presentando una visión continua respecto del valor de conocimientos y habilidades, analizando las determinantes de valorización del capital humano, organizando cuales son los efectos contextuales que lo afectan.  

Human Capital as a concept, is the key element to understand the dynamics of investment and acquisition of skills in the workforce. Beyond their origins, in which the Human Capital theory considered the accumulation of knowledge and skills structured in the form of capital, the current trends are developing the phenomenon which runs through this capital over time, either at the individual level or at the level of economic phenomenon. This article seeks to generate a continuous view of the value of human capital, analyzing the determinants of his value, asking that the contextual effects that affect it.
