Friends, teachers, researchers and curious:

A new year begins, we have left behind two years that taught us the pros and cons of virtuality, that taught us to trust and be, without a doubt, resilient. 2021 represented for all our work team an effort that we never imagined to face; but here we are, starting a 2022 full of projections for our journal. We must emphasize that the Faculty of Administration of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia Manizales maintains the idea of promoting and allowing these spaces for the dissemination of research results, theoretical review and case studies of professors from the region, professors from all over our nation and of course, foreign researchers who join our work. To give way to what is important, this issue of NOVUM presents six research and review articles framed in the social sciences.

We thank all the people who participate in the process of NOVUM, those who, with their academic contributions, dedication of time, accompaniment and empathy for our work, make it possible despite the adversities to continue doing this work.

We praise the role of the authors, who investigate, question themselves about their realities and expose their points of view through their articles. We are deeply grateful to the academic peers recognized by Minciencias who give their time to evaluate and recognize the worth of the authors by submitting themselves to this process; to the director; editor-in-chief; proofreader; translator and all the other people in charge of the management of the journal. In addition, to the professors who are members of the Editorial Committee and the International Scientific Committee, who have been fundamental in this exercise.
