El autor, basado en tesis de Heidegger y de Lacan, diferencia la psicología del psicoanálisis a partir de la impropiedad de incluir este último en el proyecto fundamental de la época de la ciencia. Tal proyecto está caracterizado por la decisión de construir saberes científicos acerca de todo lo que la época define bajo el estatuto de lo existente. La psicología, por el contrario, es concebida dentro del proyecto de la época, disponiendo de un objeto de saber sustancialmente diferente al objeto del psicoanálisis. Si el psicoanálisis no tiene el estatuto de ciencia ¿cuál le corresponde? Invocando a Lacan, el autor define este estatuto como un estatuto ético, garante fundamental del acto psicoanalítico. A partir de lo anterior quedan abiertas un conjunto de preguntas que aquí no son abordadas.

Based upon thesis by Heidegger and Lacan, the author differentiates psychology from psychoanalysis, taking as a starting point the impropriety of including the latter within the fundamental project of the epoch of science. Such a project is characterized by the decision of constructing scientific knowledge about everything the epoch of science defines under the status of existent. On the contrary, psychology is thought within the project of the epoch, having and object of knowledge substantially different from that of psychoanalysis. If the latter does not have the status of a science, wich status does it have? Along Lacan's line of ideas the autor defines it as an ethical status, fundamental warrant of the psychoanalytical act. Based upon this, new questions arise which are left open .
