El  conflicto es la base del vínculo societario. Las pulsiones agresivas, propias del ser humano según Freud, tienden a la  disolución del vínculo social. No hay sociedad que logre escapar a la violencia. La función de la cultura es la de provocar mutaciones en su expresión, de forma tal que hagan posible la convivencia social, lo cual no significa la eliminación del conflicto.

 

Conflict is the basis of all social ties. The aggressive drives, proper to humanity according to Freud, tend to dissolve these bonds. Therefore, no society can escape from violence. The function of culture is to promote transformations in its manifestations, making possible social agreement, which does not mean elimination of all conflict.
