About the Journal
The Boletín de Ciencias de la Tierra is an international publication created in 1976 by the Curricular Program of Geological Engineering, School of Geosciences of the Facultad de Minas, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Medellín Campus. The journal publishes scientific articles on research results in the different areas of geosciences. The objective of the journal is to stimulate scientific discussion on geoscientific knowledge and covering all aspects of engineering. Our objective is the dissemination of original, useful, and relevant research presenting new knowledge and resource management. All conclusions presented in the articles must be based on the current state of knowledge and supported by rigorous analysis and a balanced evaluation. The journal publishes original research articles in the different areas of the geosciences. All published articles undergo peer or referee review of recognized expertise on the Subject. The Boletín de Ciencias de la Tierra does not charge for submission or any stage of the editorial process.
The Boletín de Ciencias de la Tierra is a publication aimed at researchers and those interested in the following areas:
- Stratigraphy, sedimentology, structure and evolution of basins
- Economic geology, metallogenesis, genesis, and hydrocarbon reservoirs
- Geochemistry and geophysics
- Mining, mineralogy, metallurgy, and extraction of mineral resources
- Volcanology, igneous and metamorphic petrology
- Paleontology, paleoclimatology, Quaternary geology and geoarchaeology
- Tectonics, seismo-tectonic and geodynamic modeling
- Software applications and artificial intelligence in earth sciences
- Natural resources and sustainability
- Geomorphology, geological hazards, environmental geology, soil research, climate change and geological heritage
- Mineral resource development and exploitation
- Hydrogeology, oceanography, and geothermic
The Boletín de Ciencias de la Tierra publishes two issues per year: June and December.
