Vasculitis: análisis de 12.683 protocolos de autopsia. Estudio de 34 casos

En el período correspondiente de 1954-1990 estudiamos 12.683 informes de autopsia correspondientes en el Hospital San Juan de Dios de Bogotá, con el objeto de analizar la mortalidad por vasculitis primarias y secundarias a enfermedades del tejido conectivo. De éstos, 34 resultaron ser vasculitis: 16 primarias y 18 secundarias (a su vez, 16 casos de lupus eritematoso sistémico, uno de artritis reumatoidea y uno de escleroderma). Los órganos más frecuentemente comprometidos fueron: piel, riñón, bazo, miocardio e hígado. 17 pacientes murieron como consecuencia directa de la vasculitis. Llama la atención la poca incidencia de vasculitis en nuestra institución. Sin embargo, para conocer la real incidencia y prevalencia de esta enfermedad, es necesario diseñar instrumentos que permitan estimar con mayor certeza la magnitud de la morbilidad de las vasculitis sistémicas entre nosotros.
We estudied 12.683 post-morten reports from Hospital San Juan de Dios permorfed between 1954 and 1990. We wanted to know mortality rates from connective tissue primary and secondary vasculitis, 16 ofwhich were systemic lupus erythematosus, one case of rheumatoid arthritis and one case of scleroderma.
