Malformación de Dandy-Walker en el adulto: a propósito de 15 casos

Se revisan las historias clínicas de la Sección de Neurocirugía del Centro Hospitalario de San Juan de Dios de Bogotá, en el lapso comprendido entre 1959 a 1972. Se analizan cinco casos de malformación de Dandy-Walker del adulto, su aspecto clínico, los estudios paraclínicos y los resultados obtenidos. Se llama la atención acerca de la naturaleza congénita con manifestación tardía en cuatro casos, tres de ellos sin otra etiología demostrada y uno probablemente asociado a meningitis crónica como causa desencadenante. Solamente uno de los casos puede clasificarse exclusivamente como adquirido. Se discute el tratamiento quirúrgico y se consignan los resultados obtenidos.
A review of the Service of Neurosurgery of the San Juan de Dios Hospital -National University- in Bogota, for the period 1959-1972 was made. Five cases of Dandy- Walker malformation in adults were found: the clinical and paraclinical findings, and the treatment and results are analyzed. Attention is called over congenital nature with late manifestation in four cases; this etiology was demonstrated in three cases, the other one was associated with a probable chronic meningitis. Only one of the cases was classified as acquired. The surgical therapeutic and the results are discussed.
