Efecto del D-isoproterenol sobre el crecimiento de melanomas experimentales,

En un experimento informado anteriormente, se encontró una diferencia apreciable, pero sin significación estadística, en el peso promedio de melanomas en hámsteres inyectados con D-isoproterenol con el de los controles y el de otros grupos experimentales. Sin embargo, los efectos tóxicos de la droga sobre los animales no permitieron concluir si la diferencia se debió a un efecto tóxico primario para el tumor o secundario a alteraciones sistémicas. Aquí informamos de dos experimentos adicionales con esta droga sobre melanomas trasplantables del hámster y del ratón. Para hacer menos marcados los efectos tóxicos del D-isoproterenol, mucho menos activo biológicamente que su isómero L, pero casi tan tóxico como el, se administró en el agua de bebida, como sus sales bitartrato, o al final, sulfato de DL isoproterenol, buscando una acción de la droga más continua.
