Electrocardiograma normal en Bogotá y su relación con los signos electrocardiográficos de anoxemia

Durante mi permanencia en el "Laboratorio de Fisiología de la Facultad de Medicina de París en los años de 1936 y 1937 estudié, como colaborador del profesor León Binet y en asocio del doctor Strumza, las modificaciones del electrocardiograma durante la anoxemia aguda, en el perro, habiendo obtenido resultados muy interesantes, algunos de ellos no conocidos hasta entonces. Hoy presento un trabajo sobre el electrocardiograma normal en Bogotá. La importancia del tema me parece enorme, en primer lugar porque aún no existen entre nosotros cifras sacadas de nuestra realidad, teniendo que seguirnos por cifras extranjeras, y en segundo lugar porque estando situada Bogotá a 2640 metros sobre el nivel del mar y siendo tan discutido el problema de si aquí trabaja más o menos el corazón, es de esperarse que los datos que dé el electrocardiograma contribuyan, en parte, a dilucidar este interesantísimo problema.
