Un caso interesante de cuerpo extraño endo-ocular

Los cuerpos extraños endo-oculares han sido siempre un grave problema oftalmológico, pues en la mayoría de los casos, el ojo lesionado debe sacrificarse para evitar perturbaciones simpáticas. El empleo del electro-imán, si bien no ha resuelto el problema, ha contribuído notoriamente a mejorarlo y, en algunos casos como los que presento en estos trabajos, su uso es realmente salvador. Es claro que solamente es utilizable para la extracción de cuerpos extraños sensibles a él, razón que hace su empleo limitado. El único electro-imán gigante que existe en el país en la actualidad, es el que se encuentra en el Hospital de San Juan de Dios, el cual fue conseguido gracias a la tenaz y constante labor del Profesor Francisco Vernaza.
