Harmonic distortion, Modem, FFT, Signal Processing, Instrumentation (es)In this work a system for the remote analysis of the quality of the electrical service in Low Voltage Distribution Networks is presented, based on the spectral analysis of the wave of current in each one of the supply lines with the purpose of determining the percentage of distortion present in them, as well as, to discriminate the frequencies corresponding to the harmonic signals of contamination and their relative amplitude with respect to the fundamental component (50Hz). The system is implemented on the base of two terminals connected by means of a telephone line, that provides the link for the information transmission in a bidirectional way. The system has two terminals; one deals with the acquisition and transmission of data, and the other one deals with the reception and analysis of the information. The Server acquire, prepare and transmite to the Remote Equipment, the necessary segment of data of the installation to be analyzed, where the data processing takes place. It is in charge to acquire the data provided by the sensors and conditioning elements, by means of a digital to analog converter that multiplexes the four inputs. In order to transmit the data by a telephone line it is necessary to follow a series communication protocol and to modulate the information. For this purpose a generic external modem is used which must be controlled adequately, as to establish a connection with the remote equipment, and to guarantee the transmission and reception of data. The obtained meassurements and results show the correct operation of the system. This system fulfills ANSI C12.20 and IEC 60687 norms, Class 0.5.
