En esta entrevista el congresista e investigador social, Iván Cepeda, asocia los niveles extremos de violencia ejercida por parte del Estado contra los civiles a la ausencia o incompletitud del proceso de democratización en Colombia –por ejemplo la reforma agraria-; al desarrollo desigual y deforme y a la ausencia de mecanismos que garanticen el ejercicio de la oposición política, mediante el debate civilizado, tolerante y tranquilo a través de los cuales se evitarían esas formas de violencia extrema contra los movimientos sociales. Cepeda, a propósito, sugiere repetidas veces que el uso del término represión implica una reducción implícita de la magnitud del daño cometido contra los civiles por parte del Estado.

In this interview, the Democratic Pole Congressman Ivan Cepeda, associated with extreme levels of violence by the state against civilians of the absence or incompleteness of the democratization process in Colombia, for example, land reform, and uneven development deformed and the absence of mechanisms to ensure the exercise of political opposition, through debate civilized, tolerant and peaceful through which would avoid these extreme forms of violence against social movements. Cepeda purposely repeatedly suggests that the use of the term repression involves an implicit reduction of the amount of damage against civilians committed by the state.
