David Courtwright es un profesor de la Universidad del Norte de Florida. En años pasados, publicó dos libros sobre la historia de la
adicción a las drogas en Estados Unidos. Ahora, con este nuevo libro, Forces of Habit: Drugs and the Making of the Modern World, se enfrenta con una tarea más ambiciosa, cual es narrar y explicar
cómo se descubrieron, explotaron y comercializaron las principales drogas, legalese ilegales, consumidas en el mundo contemporáneo.
