Objetivo: Analisar a contribuição percebida do debriefing em simulação clínica no ensino de estudantes de enfermagem.

Metodologia: Estudo transversal, realizado em 2025, com 90 estudantes de enfermagem de uma universidade pública do Nordeste do Brasil. A coleta dos dados incluiu questionário de caracterização sociodemográfica e a Escala de Avaliação do Debriefing Associado à Simulação. Os dados foram analisados por estatística descritiva e inferencial, adotando-se nível de significância de 5%.  

Resultados: A média global da escala foi de 4,16 ± 0,64, correspondendo à elevada avaliação positiva do debriefing, equivalente a 83,2% da pontuação máxima. O maior escore médio foi observado na dimensão cognitiva (4,36 ± 0,56), seguida das dimensões afetiva (4,09 ± 0,70) e psicossocial (4,05 ± 0,66). Os estudantes reconheceram contribuições relacionadas à aquisição de conhecimento, à autorreflexão, à autonomia e à gestão emocional, além da possibilidade de ressignificar erros como oportunidades de aprendizagem.
Observou-se diferença estatisticamente significativa nos escores da escala entre os períodos do curso (p = 0,043), com maiores médias entre estudantes de períodos mais avançados.

Conclusão: O debriefing em simulação clínica mostrou-se uma estratégia pedagógica relevante, integrando dimensões cognitivas, afetivas e psicossociais, com maior impacto imediato no domínio cognitivo. Seus efeitos evoluem conforme a maturidade acadêmica, favorecendo a autorregulação, a reflexão crítica e a tomada de decisão em ambiente psicologicamente seguro. Reforça-se a necessidade de sua implementação estruturada e da capacitação de facilitadores na formação em enfermagem.

Objective: To analyze the perceived contribution of debriefing in clinical simulation to the teaching of nursing students.

Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2025 with 90 nursing students from a public university in Northeast Brazil. Data collection included a sociodemographic characterization questionnaire and the Simulation-Associated Debriefing Assessment Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, adopting a significance level of 5%.

Results: The overall mean score on the scale was 4.16 ± 0.64, corresponding to a high positive evaluation of debriefing, equivalent to 83.2% of the maximum score. The highest mean score was observed in the cognitive dimension (4.36 ± 0.56), followed by the affective (4.09 ± 0.70) and psychosocial (4.05 ± 0.66) dimensions. Students recognized contributions related to knowledge acquisition, self-reflection, autonomy, and emotional management, as well as the possibility of reframing errors as learning opportunities. A statistically significant difference was observed in the scale scores between the course periods (p = 0.043), with higher averages among students in more advanced periods.

Conclusion: Debriefing in clinical simulation proved to be a relevant pedagogical strategy, integrating cognitive, affective, and psychosocial dimensions, with a greater immediate impact on the cognitive domain. Its effects evolve according to academic maturity, fostering self-regulation, critical reflection, and decision-making in a psychologically
safe environment. These findings reinforce the need for its structured implementation and for training facilitators in nursing education.

Objetivo: Analizar la contribución percibida del debriefing en simulación clínica a la enseñanza de estudiantes de enfermería.

Metodología: Se realizó un estudio transversal en 2025 con 90 estudiantes de enfermería de una universidad pública del nordeste de Brasil. La recolección de datos incluyó un cuestionario de caracterización sociodemográfica y la Escala de Evaluación del Debriefing Asociado a la Simulación. Los datos se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva e inferencial, adoptando un nivel de significancia del 5%.

Resultados: La puntuación media general en la escala fue de 4,16 ± 0,64, lo que corresponde a una alta evaluación positiva del debriefing, equivalente al 83,2% de la puntuación máxima. La puntuación media más alta se observó en la dimensión cognitiva (4,36 ± 0,56), seguida de las dimensiones afectiva (4,09 ± 0,70) y psicosocial (4,05 ± 0,66). Los estudiantes reconocieron contribuciones relacionadas con la adquisición de conocimiento, la autorreflexión, la autonomía y la gestión emocional, así como la posibilidad de reformular los errores como oportunidades de aprendizaje.
Se observó una diferencia estadísticamente significativa en las puntuaciones de la escala entre los períodos del curso (p = 0,043), con promedios más altos entre los estudiantes de los períodos más avanzados.

Conclusión: El debriefing en simulación clínica se mostró como una estrategia pedagógica relevante, integrando dimensiones cognitivas, afectivas y psicosociales, con mayor impacto inmediato en el dominio cognitivo. Sus efectos evolucionan según la madurez académica, favoreciendo la autorregulación, la reflexión crítica y la toma de decisiones en un entorno psicológicamente seguro. Estos hallazgos refuerzan la necesidad de su implementación estructurada y de la capacitación de facilitadores en la formación en enfermería.
