Objetivo: compreender a percepção dos técnicos de enfermagem em relação aos acompanhantes dos pacientes oncológicos em fase terminal.
Metodologia: trata-se de uma pesquisa descritivo-exploratória de natureza qualitativa, desenvolvida em um hospital referência para o tratamento do câncer em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre os meses de setembro e outubro de 2016. Utilizou-se a Análise de Conteúdo fundamentada em Bardin para a avaliação das entrevistas.
Resultados: a partir da análise das entrevistas, emergiram duas categorias empíricas: O conviver cotidiano do técnico de enfermagem e o acompanhante do paciente oncológico em fase terminal e Fatores dificultadores da interação da enfermagem com os acompanhantes, focando-se na interação dos profissionais com o acompanhante e os fatores de conflito entre as partes.
Conclusão: foi evidenciada a importância do acompanhante pelo técnico de enfermagem nesse processo de terminalidade, na medida em que podem proporcionar segurança e acolhimento ao paciente. No entanto, a ausência de uma comunicação adequada entre os acompanhantes e o profissional foi o fator preponderante na geração de conflitos. A enfermagem requer, por parte da instituição assim como do acompanhante, de espaços nos quais possam expressar suas angústias e anseios, fazendo que esse percurso seja um momento de acolhimento e de criação de vínculos entre os envolvidos.
Objective: to understand the perception of the nursing technicians about the companions of cancer patients in terminal stage.
Methodology: descriptive and exploratory research of qualitative nature, developed in a referral hospital for treatment of cancer in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. It was used analysis of content based on Bardin for the evaluation of the interviews. The data collection was made between the months of September and October 2016.
Results: from the analysis of the interviews, two empirical categories emerged: the everyday life of the art of nursing and monitoring of patients in the terminal stage of cancer, and factors that hindered the interaction of nursing with the companions, with focus on the interaction of professionals and the companion and factors of conflict between the parties.
Conclusion: nursing technician showed the importance of the companion in the process of terminal stage, to the extent that he can provide security and welcome to the patient. However, the absence of proper communication between colleagues and professional was the dominating factor in the generation of conflict. Nursing requires from the institution and companion spaces in which anguish and desires can be expressed, making this journey a moment of welcome and creation of linkages among those involved.
Objetivo: comprender la percepción de los técnicos de enfermería sobre los acompañantes de los pacientes oncológicos en estado terminal.
Metodología: investigación descriptiva exploratoria de naturaleza cualitativa, desarrollada en un hospital de referencia para tratamiento de cáncer en Belo Horizonte, Minas de Gerais. Se utilizó análisis de contenido fundamentado en Bardin para la evaluación de las entrevistas. La recolección de los datos se hizo entre los meses de septiembre y octubre de 2016.
Resultados: a partir del análisis de las entrevistas, emergieron dos categorías empíricas: La vida diaria de la técnica de enfermería y seguimiento de pacientes en la estación terminal de cáncer; y Factores que dificultaban la interacción de enfermería con los acompañantes, con enfoque en la interacción de los profesionales y el acompañante y los factores de conflicto entre las partes.
Conclusión: el técnico de enfermería evidenció la importancia del acompañante en el proceso de estado terminal, en la medida en que puede proporcionar seguridad y acogida al paciente. Sin embargo, la ausencia de una comunicación adecuada entre compañeros y profesional fue el factor preponderante en la generación de conflictos. La enfermería requiere de parte de la institución y del acompañante, espacios en los cuales se puedan expresar angustias y anhelos, haciendo de ese recorrido un momento de acogida y de creación de vínculos entre los involucrados.
