Since 2016 I had the honor of assuming the work as general editor of the journal, after the enormous effort of the previous general editor, Professor Orlando Rangel. During these seven years, we advanced work seeking to enhance the position of the journal, among them we can highlight: Caldasia went from receiving about 50 papers per year to handling about 160 manuscripts, the editorial process was completely developed using the OJS system, the format was completely digital, the layout was changed to include elements of recent trends in academic publications such as requiring ORCID to authors, the declaration of conflict of interest and originality, the use of Turnitin and Grammarly was standardized for all papers received, the strategy of early publication of accepted papers was established, the geographic scope of the journal was expanded, thematic issues were generated in alliance with academic organizations, and the journal's social networks were developed; Finally, and given the number of papers received, since 2022 the journal went from publishing two issues per year with 40 articles to three issues per year, with 20 papers per issue.
My best wishes to Professor Julián Aguirre, who, by assuming the task of the general editor, contributes to the scientific community by providing this space for communication and the construction of a permanent memory of our work.
