Lozano-Contrerass contributions dealing with sorne Neotropical taxa are here sumrnarized. A review of the current status of the systernatics of these taxa shows that some critical aspects remain controversial. The significance ofthe findings of Matudaea. Oreomunnea and Trigonobalanus in South América is ernphasized. In addition, the discussion of the generic status of Dugandiodendron and Trigonobalanus is here outlined. Finally, we make a call for additional studies on Metteniusa, in order to provide new data to explore the systernatic relationships ofthis enigmatic genus.
