Invitado de manera especial por el Ministerio de Educación y la Universidad Nacional, visito recientemente a Bogotá el distinguido profesor Dr. Thomas Harper Goodspeed, director del Jardín Botánico de la Universidad de California, en compañia de su esposa, la señora Florence de Goodspeed. Nuestro ilustre huésped es bien conocido en el mundo científico por sus estudios sobre Citología y Genética y sus profundas investigaciones en el genero Nicotiana, así como por su dirección de las expediciones botánicas enviadas por la Universidad de California a los Andes, desde Colombia hasta la Tierra del Fuego.
