Con motivo de un estudio sobre la posición sistemática de Stylites andicola E. AMSTUTZ 1957, in Ann. Missouri Bet.Gdn.44 (1): (121)-123 [March 22, 1957] procedente de los Andes peruanos, el autor tuvo la oportunidad de investigar el material determinado como Isoêtes triquetra A . BRAUN 1862, in Verh. bot. Ver . Brandenbg. 3/4 :332,n. 9 [20. Dec. 1862] en el herbario del U. S. National Museum, Washington DC. El examen del dibujo, de la descripción y de la localidad de Stylites andicola dejaban entrever una probable identidad de esta especie con Isoêtes triquetra. 1)
