in the arthropods studied. The genus Lutzomyia is represented in our findings by 19 named species and by at least 3 species which are still under study. Of the former 19 species 5 had been previously reported in Colombia; the other 14 species constitute new records for this country. Among the human biting specimens it has been possible to identify L. flaviscutellata; hartmanni, panamensis, paraensis, trapidoi and ylephiletrix.
From the material processed for arbovirus, isolations were made on seven different occasions.
