A study of the actual pollen deposition at Santa Marta, Colombia, S. A. Daily pollen counts were carried out by a gravimetric method at Santa Marta, Colombia. During one year 1163 pollen grains per square centimeter were deposited on the exposed slides. The pollen grains of Mimosa leiocarpa (37,60%), Gramineae (22,1%), Amaranthaceae and Chenopodiaceae (13,2%), and Moraceae (7,4%) were found most abundantly. Pollen grains of Gramineae, Amaranthaceae and Chenopodiaceae were most copious in the months of October-December, those of Mimosa leiocarpa mainly observed in June, normally formed clusters of numerous grains. Several frequent and typical species of the xerophytic vegetation of the Santa Marta region were hardly represented in the pollen deposition.
