Se describe una nueva especie Brunellia pauciflora, diferenciable, por la inflorescencia simplificada en tamaño y estructura y por la margen foliar revoluta. Brunellia zamorensis Steyemark, especie dudosa ya que se describió de material estéril, se redescribe con base en recientes colecciones en fruto, que confirman su pertenencia a Brunellia.

Brunellia pauciflora, a new taxon of Brunellia distinguished by its simple inflorescences its size and estructure and by its revolute leaf margins is described. The doubtful status of Brunellia zamorensis Steyermark originally described from young sterile material is here extensively redescribed from recent fruiting collections. Its validity as species of Brunellia, is confirmed.
