Mobile banking has emerged as a key tool for financial inclusion, particularly in rural areas where geographical and infrastructural barriers hinder access to traditional banking services. This study analyzes the determinants of mobile banking acceptance among cattle farmers in western Antioquia, Colombia, using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model. A quantitative methodology was applied through structured surveys conducted with 132 rural producers to evaluate variables such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, risk, and trust. The results indicate that performance expectancy and effort expectancy are the main factors influencing mobile banking adoption, while trust, risk, and social influence do not show significant impacts. These findings highlight the need to develop strategies that promote access to user-friendly digital platforms and training focused on the effective use of these tools.
