No es fácil dar un diagnóstico sobre la calidad de nuestra educación universitaria. Es representativo dicho porcentaje o definitivamente son gotas de aceite en la cantera universitaria? y de qué variables depende ésta? El profesor universitario en nuestro medio es un profesional que generalmente combina su práctica con la cátedra, combinación que puede ser benéfica para la institución por cuanto aprovecha la experiencia del profesor, en la enseñanza de conocimientos «frescos» y actualizados, y para el mismo profesor, porque lo motiva a dicha actualización. El fin debe ser que el estudiante asuma una posición crítica frente al conocimiento promoviendo la reflexión y favoreciendo el desarrollo personal de éste. Es necesario concebir la universidad como una empresa rentable y con calidad, pero no como un «negocio».

It is necessary to conceive the university as a profitable company and with quality, but not as a "business".
