En este articulo se presentan algunas definiciones de Simulación así como los principales métodos utilizados por dicha técnica. Se discriminan una serie de ventajas y desventajas de las técnicas de Simulación. También se enumeran las fases asociadas con el Método de Montecarlo; se explican los procedimientos para generar números aleatorios y valores de variables aleatorias con distribución de probabilidad conocida.
