Se analiza la devolución de los materiales arqueológicos de Machu Picchu (2011-2012), considerando especialmente aspectos jurídicos: primero, las normas peruanas aplicables a las expediciones de Hiram Bingham y, segundo, la disputa judicial. Finalmente, luego de observar los acuerdos alcanzados (en 2007 y 2010), se examina el caso desde la actualidad.
This paper analyzes the return of archaeological materials from Machu Picchu (2011-2012). First, it deals with the Peruvian law, which was applicable to the expeditions conducted by Hiram Bingham. Second, it analyzes the judicial dispute. After observing the agreements (2007 and 2010), the paper examines the process from today’s perspective.
