Based on the characterization of the hospital pharmaceutical services of five (5) “Instituciones Prestadoras de Servicios de Salud, IPS†(Health Care Services Institutions) of Colombian Social Security Institute -ISS- in several care levels in Bogotá, and, on the other hand, based on the selection criteria of Efficiency Scrutiny Methodological Tool, the medicament distribution process in the Pharmaceutical Service Medical Clinics in a Colombian hospital was chosen as the study subject with the aim to develop such scrutiny process. Some activities associated with 81% in time and 82% in cost of the process were selected in order to focalize the activities susceptible of enhancement based on their high impact, which is based in terms of efficiency and service quality.
