ESTUDIO FITOQUIMICO PRELIMINAR Y EVALUACION DE LA ACTIVIDAD ANTIMICROBIANA DE ALGUNAS PLANTAS SUPERIORES COLOMBIANAS

Se hizo un análisis fitoquímico preliminar de 16 especies de plantas superiores pertenecientes a 12 familias. Se hallaron los siguientes metabolitos: alcaloides en 6 plantas, flavonoides en 15, antraquinonas en 2, taninos en 12, lactonas sesquiterpénicas en 4, cumarinas en 2. Todas presentaron esteroides y o triterpenoides y ninguna saponinas ni heterósidos cardiotónicos.

La actividad antimicrobiana de los extractos etanólicos fué evaluada frente a 7 microorganismos Gram positivos, 9 microorganismos Gram negativos, 2 levaduras. La actividad antifúngica se evaluó frente a dos hongos : Aspergillus niger y Penicillium sp.

Siete de las plantas presentaron buena actividad, pero se destacan por su amplio espectro de actividad: Drymis granadensis y Monnina cf. mollis.
