ACTIVIDAD ANTIBACTERIANA DE ALGUNAS ESPONJAS DEL CARIBE COLOMBIANO

Los extractos clorofórmicos y etanólicos de algunas especies de esponjas marinas de la bahía de Santa Marta y Punta Aguja, Caribe Colombiano, fueron examinados respecto a su actividad antibacteriana. Ambos extractos de las esponjas Topsentia ophiraphidites, Aplysina lacunosa, Smenospongia echina y Acarnus innominatus mostraron actividad significativa frente a los microorganismos ensayados, destacándose la actividad de Smenospongia echina frente a Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Las otras esponjas examinadas Desmapsamma anchorata, Myrmekioderma styx y Plakinastrella onkodes no presentaron actividad antibacteriana y las esponjas Anthosignella variansy Raspailia (Raspaxilla)sp solo fueron activas contra un microorganismo Gram positivo en cada caso.
