Un estudio reciente llevado a cabo por los investigadores Mikael Laakso (Hanken School of Economics, Finlandia), Lisa Matthias (Universidad Libre de Berlín, Alemania) y Najko Jahn (Universidad de Göttingen, Alemania) encontró que más de 100 revistas científicas han desaparecido de Internet entre los años 2000 y 2019.
