On the nature of the gospels in the light of their history

La tradición sobre Jesús sufrió un complicado proceso de transmisión hasta convertirse en los evangelios escritos que hoy conocemos. Es importante conocer la naturaleza de los textos antes de pretender comprender la doctrina. A partir de la historia de su composición, intentamos mostrar por qué los evangelios nos son biografías del Jesucristo histórico.

Tradition about Jesus underwent a complicated transmission process, until it became the today known Gospels. It is important to become acquainted of the nature of the texts before aiming towards a comprehension of the doctrine. Based upon the history of their composition, we intend to show why the Gospels are not biographies of the historical Jesus Christ.
