In this paper the state of the art in immunity of electrical equipment to voltage sags is presented. It includes two main topics: immunity analysis and voltage sag generators. As a result, an alternative methodology for testing equipment under voltage sags with an immunity assessment is proposed. A comprehensive bibliographic review is shown, describing voltage sag immunity standards and selected research and industry publications. The proposed methodology for assessing immunity is based on the presented literature and the work of the authors.
