Generalized strategy for implementing the minimum fault reactance based fault location algorithm in real power distribution systems

The paper here presented is aimed to propose a generalized strategy, useful to easily implement a fault locator in real power distribution systems. The strategy is based on the definition of a fault location method and its successive application along the first section lines until the faulted section is determined. According to the results, the proposed strategy seems to be applicable in real power systems as alternative to reduce the fault location time and as a consequence to maintain good continuity indexes.
