This work evaluates the influence of using two different low voltage line configuration on the lightning surges that are transferred to consumer loads throught distribution transformers. it was shown that the lowest voltage levels at the consumers service entrance are obtained when multiplexed conductors are applied, instead of open-wire ones. Basic representation of Brazilian rural and urban low voltage networks were considered. the result were obtained performed with EMTP
