This article describes three strategies to promote the reduction of energy consumption in residential users: The first related to the use of technologies that increase the level of efficiency of electrical systems. The second related to the incorporation of alternative sources to replace part or all of the dependence on conventional energy sources. The third related to the adoption of cultural parameters that foster individual demand management as a success factor for energy management strategy.
The simulation results for the application of two energy management alternatives in a home smart grid are presented. These levels were defined in terms of the incorporation of technological components about two groups of socio economic kind of users.
