This work aims to present recent developments in the topic lightning performance of transmission lines, highlighting the relevance of the soil impulsive behavior, especially the variation of soil electric parameters with frequency, the use of realistic representations of the waveform of the lightning current, and the application of models designed to accurately represent the electromagnetic couplings among the components of the system.
