This paper presents a methodology for conducting power quality (PQ) studies in health care institutions integrating aspects related to the electrical network and the electromagnetic susceptibility and immunity levels of the equipments use in this facilities (medical equipment). In this methodology, explains step by step the required activities that must be carried out with the aim to reduce the possibility of errors in the execution of the study of PQ. The methodology proposed is composed by seven steps (stages), for which the international standards IEEE 1159, IEEE 519, IEC61000, IEC60601 and the Colombian standards NTC 2050 y 5001 were taken into account. In addition, some procedures and recommendations raised by other institutions were integrated to the process.
